Carol Crabtree Donovan, attorney-mediator, public speaker and community volunteer, is President of Peacemakers Incorporated, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization. Married, and mother of two, she has practiced law in Dallas for over 27 years. A Dallas native, she attended Bryan Adams High School and was the first woman to be elected Student Body President at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Working in Austin and Washington D. C. in the offices of Congressman J. J. Pickle, she earned her law degree at Texas Tech School of Law and served as a briefing attorney for U. S. District Judge Robert M. Parker. While at Texas, Carol reinstated the Dallas Women's Coalition and founded the Susan B. Anthony Award Luncheon. An Assistant Girl Scout leader for the largest group in Dallas history to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, she also received a District Service Award as Badge Counselor for Boy Scout Troop 42. She has been named to Who's Who of American Executives 2000, and was First Place Winner of the Toastmasters International Area Humorous Speech Competition. Awarded the Maura by the Women's Museum 2007, she was also Chairwoman of the International Peace Conference during the same year. |
