Chester Vaughn is a Texas native and has spent many years of service to Dallas through positions in the Dallas County Health Department; as well as volunteerism. Before retiring he was the Director of Environmental Health which included responsibilities for air and water quality, food and restaurant inspections, public health complaints and illegal dumping activities. A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, Chester graduated from Texas A & M Commerce with a Bachelors degree in Biology and a Master of Science in Counseling. He was an advisor with Dallas Independent School District before beginning his career with Dallas County in 1974. He has been active in the community through board positions with the Dallas County Credit Union, Adelle Turner and Atwell PTA, and the Moorland YMCA, to name just a few. He has been an NCAA basketball official and enjoys fishing, golfing and running. Chester has served on the Honors board since 2004. |
