John Dodd is President and CEO of Honors Academy. He served as Mayor of Farmers Branch, Texas and as a City Council Member from 1975-1988. A past Vice President of the Dallas Independent School District, he was also a Vice President of the National Republican Mayors and Chairman of the National Safety Buckle-Up campaign. As owner and operator of Dodd & Associates Financial Planning, he also served as President for the Dallas/Ft. Worth Society of International Certified Planners and was Chairman for the RTC Dallas Workers Transition Committee.

      For the past 30 years, John has been an educational champion and community servant. As a resident of the Dallas Independent School District and graduate of Dallas Sunset High School, he has actively participated on the School-Committee Council at W.T. White High School and was a Board Member of the Dallas City Council of PTAs. He also served as Vice President for the Carrollton/Farmers Branch Council of PTA and as PTA President for William L. Cabell Elementary School. A graduate of Texas A&M at Commerce, John also attended Baylor University in Waco. With his wife, Betty, he has two children who are practicing attorneys and is the proud grandfather of five grandchildren.
