Michelle Metzger

    As Vice President and General Manager of Pierpont’s Dallas office, Michelle Metzger brings her strategic experience helping translate complex, technical solutions into topics that are newsworthy to business level reporters and publications. In addition to business development responsibilities for the Dallas market, Michelle also helps clients garner holy grail coverage opportunities that generate awareness and build credibility in their market. Her deep technology background spans key niche industries including security, wireless, telecommunications, as well as experience in financial services, foodservice, staffing solutions, exhibition services and nonprofit organizations.

    Prior to joining Pierpont, Michelle held a senior position with Waggener Edstrom Worldwide working on the agency's second largest global account, BMC Software. For BMC, she built media relations campaigns that secured top tier business coverage in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Business Week, FOX Business, CNBC, Bloomberg, Dow Jones, Investors Business Daily, as well as top technology trades including InformationWeek, eWeek, Network World, Computerworld and ZDNet.

    In addition, Michelle led global public relations for Entrust, Inc., a leading security software company based in Addison, Texas. During her tenure, she was responsible for shaping the company's corporate message and secured top coverage for this $100 million company in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes, Financial Times, Washington Post, TheStreet.com, Investor's Business Daily, The Register, as well as broadcast coverage on CNN, CNBC, MSNBC and FOX News and numerous clips in industry trade publications as well.

    Previously, Michelle served as director of public relations for M/C/C where she managed the public relations department for M/C/C and worked closely with clients including L-3 Communications, CapRock Communications, Samsung BCS, CREDANT Technologies, RuleSpace, Navini Networks and NextiraOne.

    Prior to M/C/C, Michelle owned and operated Burton Metzger, formerly the Burton Agency, a boutique PR firm in Dallas. She placed clients in local, national and international media outlets and managed the marketing and public relations for trade shows in Munich, Germany and Hong Kong, SAR. In addition, she has personally appeared on Day & Date, Good Morning Texas, Good Day Dallas and other media outlets in the state of Texas.

    Formerly the president of Michelle Martinez Communications, she has spoken on topics of communication and community service to groups such as the Georgia Association of School Business Officials, Southwestern Bell, Hewlett-Packard Convex, AdvoCare, Club Corporation, NEC Corporation and many others. In 1999, she served as a facilitator at the Voices Against Violence youth conference in Washington, D.C.

    The 1998 & 1999 Communications Chairman and a spokesperson for United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Michelle is a former President of the Oak Cliff Lions Club and serves as an executive director for Wipe Out Kids Cancer, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Honors Academy. A cum laude graduate of Southern Methodist University, Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Political Science.
