Nora Mercado

      Nora Adriana Mercado is a mom and homemaker who has extensive business experience and civic involvement. Having served as a Bilingual Account Specialist with the Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, she was also the Bilingual Secretary of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1992 and was Financial Secretary of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Cliff and Child Care Worker for Tyler Street Christian Academy, where she was also on the Parent Teacher Fellowship Board. Nora's civic duties include work with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, the Oak Cliff Lions Club, a Meals On Wheels Coordinator, and a Camp El Har Home Schooling Co-Op Volunteer. As a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 20 years, she had held active positions in the Anglo and Spanish mission church activities. She was a Spanish Translator for the Baptist Student Union of Stephen F. Austin University's Winter Mission Trips and was Translator for Medical Teams from Central Baptist Church of Miami, Florida in Peru and the Dominican Republic. Presently, Nora enjoys reading biographies, good food, and participating in educational activities and taking pictures of her children.
